World War 1 Poems

This week we ended our ANZAC
work with world war 1 poems.
Here is 1 of them by Taylah.

As your eyes beam out with tears,
Your stomach explodes with fears,
My face goes red as I start to cry,
As I see my best friend fall and die.

I lunge slowly up to the front line,
I think to myself its time to shine,
Heaven is calling me as I start to die,
I don’t know if today is the right time.

Bullets to the chest bullets to the throat,
I stumble down; down I hit the ground,
Wild thoughts go through eternal darkness in my dreams,
This seems I have no pain running through my veins.
