Jonathan Collins Cup 2015

Last Thursday Kakapo went to St. Brendans in
Heretaunga to compete in 10-a side rugby and
netball for the annual Jonathan Collins Cup. It
was a  great day and although our teams found
the competition challenging it was great to be
able to compete. Here is a team photo with
more images and writing soon to follow.

stands for danger, check for danger. R is for
response and S is send for help, and dial 111.
You must tilt their head back so they can breath,

CPR place your hands on the middle of their
chest and push down hard 30 times then give them
2 breaths.Get a defibrillator from maybe the library

Jurassic World Fundraiser

"Hilarious" are some of the reviews we got back
from the students that piled into Events Cinema
to watch Jurassic World. It was a fundraising
event for our seniors who will be going to camp
next year at Teapot Valley. A big thank you to
all the parents who helped make this movie night
possible. We raised over $1900 in total including
the raffle. The movie was extremely enjoyable
particularly when the main actress showed how
to run away from dinosaurs in high heels.

World War 1 Poems

This week we ended our ANZAC
work with world war 1 poems.
Here is 1 of them by Taylah.

As your eyes beam out with tears,
Your stomach explodes with fears,
My face goes red as I start to cry,
As I see my best friend fall and die.

I lunge slowly up to the front line,
I think to myself its time to shine,
Heaven is calling me as I start to die,
I don’t know if today is the right time.

Bullets to the chest bullets to the throat,
I stumble down; down I hit the ground,
Wild thoughts go through eternal darkness in my dreams,
This seems I have no pain running through my veins.
