This term in Kakapo, in line with our inquiry on Space, we have been making paper mache masks using aliens as a theme. We began by pasting little torn up pieces of newspaper on a balloon. This took about 4 weeks to make a thick layer. It was really boring but we had to be patient. Eventually Mr Sah cut them in half with a hack saw so we all had half each. Now we are building features on top. Have a look at where we are at the moment. They will be painted and decorated before the end of this term. We'll post the finished results on the blog later.
Last Thursday Kakapo went to St. Brendans in Heretaunga to compete in 10-a side rugby and netball for the annual Jonathan Collins Cup. It was a great day and although our teams found the competition challenging it was great to be able to compete. Here is a team photo with more images and writing soon to follow.
On friday 31st of July we had a disco. The theme was crazy hair. It was a fundraiser for the school camp next year. Everyone really enjoyed it.We had Matthew and LB doing the DJ. We raised a total of $880!The disco was stupendous.
